Performed in local and regional theatre for 4 years before being accepted into the drama program at a theatre school in Toronto (1985). Had originally planned on a career as pro football player but was washed out of semi pro league due to injuries. His acting talent grouped with his athletic ability made him an attractive choice for action shows where he had the chance to work as a stuntman as a way to support himself. According to a Toronto Star article was reported being seriously injured while shooting the Steven Seagal feature 'Exit Wounds' in Toronto, Canada.
